It all started when…

We’re just a bunch of sneaker heads who love boutique street fashion. Traveling around the world, looking for fresh threadz, our favorite pieces are one of a kind, sometimes couture, sometimes straight up so dope people walk right up to you smiling and ask you where you found it. Limited edition runs. Stuff right off the catwalk. Indie garment lines. Unique works of handcrafted art made with love and thoughtfulness sometimes found on a shelf in the back next to the spray paint and kicks.

Cannacity ® was developed on one of these shopping trips. We were in Amsterdam, again, having just left the Milan International Film Festival and killing time before Paris fashion week, dropping into coffeeshops and dispensaries we found one thing in common. If we wanted to bring home a classic underground 420 friendly T-shirt, the only graphic images you could choose from were plus signs and pot leaves, an image of Bob Marley or Marilyn Monroe smoking. Most importantly, none of these shirts were ever made of hemp. How could that be? Hemp is cheaper to produce, environmentally friendly, and when mixed with bamboo can make an incredibly soft material that everyone says becomes their favorite shirt.

Solution? Start our own super cool fashion Tshirt line…made from hemp.

As the 420 community grows, with literally billions of dollars being spent in the space, the celebration of legalization has definitely stepped out into the mainstream. With love and passion we gathered all our favorite artists to collab on a charitable line of urban fashion designed to celebrate this bounty and gorgeous enough to get noticed and spark conversation. We reached out and commissioned art photographers, animators, vector artists, cartoonists, & graffiti fanatics to work on one subject: sexy women smoking. While waiting for our painted images to be delivered, we started with a photo shoot by celebrity photographer Michael Bezjian of The Artist Project, Getty Images contributing photographer Greg Doherty, and a handful of models. There were hundreds of breathtaking images to choose from and it took a bunch of late night development meetings fighting for our favorites to narrow down the handful that would make it onto our first line.

We met with hemp manufactures, filled a room with books of material samples and—after a bunch of beta testing and private showings—settled on a mix of material that’s just the right amount of comfortable. And viola! In 2019, Cannacity’s ® first Tshirt for ‘She’s Smokin’ was born with its iconic deep orange. Why Cannacity ®? Cause when you bring flower to a situation, you have cannacity ®.

Of course, when you create one thing, it often evolves from there and now our MAINSTREAM family friendly lines of wearable art and facegear are flying out the door. Cause when you only build limited edition lines, there’s only so many of each piece being worn around the world. And we love that. Your clothes should be as unique as you and we hope our images speak to you as much as they do to us.


Throughout our spring incubation period we had mad parties. Our Spring ‘She’s Smokin’ Collection incubator event where we partied for 12 hours on 4/20 with The Artists Project in Hollywood, CA was followed that summer by sponsoring a beautiful event at Jamie Foxx’s house celebrating the legendary director, producer, actor, and music producer F. Gary Gray on his 50th birthday and his addition to the Hollywood Walk of Fame (Waterfalls, Friday, Ms. Jackson, The Fate of the Furious, The Italian Job, A Man Apart, Straight Outta Compton, The Negotiator).

In the summer, Cannacity’s ® Art Basel popup privé was on fire in Miami. In the fall, the launch of our line on Maui started with a Love Shack Luau surrounded by supportive friends catching mad love vibes. 2019 was great.

Then COVID hit. No more parties. Not for now. Oh, how we miss all of you. But with your continued support, and with the help of influencer friends, opinion makers, and fashionistas worldwide showing us off, you should be seeing our pieces on social media. Until we can start chilling together again, we’ll just have to look up at the same moon, put it in the air, and know that we’ll all get through this together.

A notoriously private man, it was an honor to bring the brand around for F. Gary Gray’s 50th and show off some art. Jamie’s home is fabulous and he’s always fostering fresh new artists at the house, whether it’s music—including the hottest new names coming out— or painting, filmmaking or fledging brands like us.
